A Minion Master Question - Guild Wars Forums

Hi I've Just Created A New Necromancer which is currently Level 15.
I Would Like Some Advice On How To Be a Minion Master, if possible could u post a build on it?

For builds, you should try looking in "The Campfire" section of this forum. They usually cover every possible build someone would look for.

Here is my advise on Minion masters: DONT

The warriors get trapped and cant effectively fight, when they die, you do.

Oh the other hand you can take 2-3 rangers out and they canhide behind a wall of minions. Then shoot arrows till thier fingers fall off.

minion mastering is very satisfying

got lots of warriors? go more fiends (tho at lvl 15 you're waiting for it)
got less up front? horrors rock for taking a beating, and ok at dish out, particularly if you got the +1 DM hat and up to a superior rune of death magic

Not if you are a Warrior

You get penned in either between the mobs and minions, or on the wrong side of the minions and have to run around them to hit, throwing your timing or skills off.

I dunno, i had 30-40 minions going constantly in the early parts of Thunderhead Keep once and the warriors loved it, they just stood and laughed while everything was overrun with sheer numbers.

minions own, thats all there is too it, all you need is to figure out what your best at using the minions for

If your GOOD it won't really matter what the warriors do after you get rolling...

For the first 3-4 corpses use Fiend, then you can use minions on the next(don't forget to nova them) then you should raise a few more fiends and finally go all minion bombs... so what if the W can't get to the badguy. the warrior doesn't explode when he/she dies point blank the the guy. (unless you put nova on him/her)

After you have enough "bombs" you can just sit back and watch the fun as your army slaughters the universe. The warriors dont HAVE to do anything from there on out, (and it's not much fun for them either :P )

to be honest if you go as minion master then mostly in pve.
I'm playing a Necro/Mesmer since the first wpe and I love to be minion master when needed. My horrors and fiends are level 18 my minions level 13.

Do me and everyone else a favor and DON'T go in the arena as a minion master.

It won't work or only very rarely.

If you want to pvp as a minion master then only in the tombs or in GvG!
Of course you need someone who intend to keep killing himself for you to spawn minions the whole time and a fast rezed (Mesmer/Monk usually because of the fast casting).

So in PvE almost in every mission a minion master rocks!
In PvP it depends on the team you are with and it works only in the Tombs and GvG.

MINION MASTERS ROX IN PVE....as long as u good............i was good

here is a good strat for early game:

get a run to droknars and get the bone fiends and minions
also keep bone horrors in ur skill bar....get bloodstained boots and scar pattern armor for extra energy.

when things are dying u will get lots of energy get +15 energy focus item.....
soul reaping will help u.....
or get the grim cesta next to beetletun that gives u 20 percent cast and recharge increase with death magic...

cast minions for swarm and fiends to last....horrors when u dont have lots of energy. basically it
use heal area to heal em if u a monk and blood is power if u not.....

at later lvls just use minions and fiends...mark of pain nice
